Elsavie was born from the desire to make people's lives better. The roots of this story reach back to the
Centre of Food and Fermentation Technologies (TFTAK), where Estonian scientists have been dedicatedly researching nutrition and biotechnology since 2004, helping both local and international companies.
At one point, the scientists' focus turned to a new and exciting world—the microbes that live in our bodies, or the microbiome. It is there, in the depths of the gut, that the answers lie that affect our immunity, energy, body weight, chronic diseases, and even our mood.
In 2005, TFTAK completed a unique digestive tract simulator, which allowed scientists to observe and understand digestive processes exactly as they actually occur in our bodies. The knowledge gained over the years led to a microbiome analysis service in 2016, which opened the door for people to understand their inner world.
